| Recording a full-length album | ||
|
Unlike stated in the previous news, we have decided to record a full-length album instead of yet another demo/promo. For the recording we have booked D-studio for an extended weekend (from Friday, April 19th to Tuesday, April 24th) with an option for two extra days after that. In that time we aim to record six songs of which total running time is around 45 minutes. We haven't yet decided anything regarding the marketing and/or distribution of the album, since we're still surveying and weighting all available options. Due to that we cannot even begin to estimate a possible release date. |

The past year and a half have been rather quiet on the surface, but we haven't been laxing during that time! During all those months we have been composing and arranging new material along with lyrics, as well as taking care of personal businesses. So far we have 21 songs in total (+two more in writing), of which eight have been released to the public domain over the years, and of those eight songs the first four (the first demo) should be regarded as outdated and obsolete. With an average length of about six minutes, we now have quite a variety to choose songs from, which brings us to our future plans: recording a new demo/promo/self-paid EP/call-it-what-you-want. We still haven't decided where we're going to record it and how much we're willing to pay for it, but the plan is to spend a weekend recording two or three tracks at some point around February and March 2007. After that it's time to start gigging and marketing ourselves, if we ever want to get any attention from any label. |

While the foggy climes of Autumn have turned to crisp December nights Thales have been working hard away from the public eye. After the successful 3-in-a-row victories of the Eliminaattori demo-competition during early Summer there has not been much of bells and whistles. Like true marketing geniuses we decided to lay low and dig even further into the underground. After all who needs the hype. We have been sending the Ad Mortis Infinitvm -promo to several labels. While some label excecs admit that they like our music as a fan, none of them have had the will to put some money on the line to see if the Thales boat would float on the over-saturated seas of extreme metal. One day though there shall be an album out and we will make it worth the wait and worth your while (or a couple of whiles even). In the mean time we have been sharpening our blades in the unholy dungeon of our rehearsal room. The old songs are flowing with more grace while new bastards of a song are being bred all the time. I think we have enough quality material for a double album now. I see a new recording session coming up sooner than later. |
